Friday´s first singles match featured Girls no. 1 seed María Camila OSORIO of Colombia against USA´s Elizabeth Mandlik seeded 4. Both girls played well but OSORIO´s more versatile game opening up the court with greater angles and drop shots gave the nod to the South American. In the other semifinal no. 7 seed Lea MA of USA got past Alexandra VAGRAMOV of Canada by 6-3. 6-4. MA´s demeanor on court is calm and collected and she outlasted the Canadian with great defensive skills to make the final.

Boys matches were both played under the lights to the delight of a packed Stadium Court. In the first match Keenan MAYO of USA went up against fellow American Brandon NAKASHIMA. MAYO, who turns 18 in May but looks like he´s going on 30, is a strong player with heavy groundstrokes, yet the calm and business like NAKASHIMA responded well and gave tit for tat. But in the end MAYO prevailed in 3 sets.
In the final evening match no. 3 seed Mateus ALVES of Brazil squared off against unseeded Frenchman Harold MAYOT. As the remaining top seed ALVES may have been favored but the “unharolded” MAYOT played with aplomb and clean striking of the ball to frustrate the talented brazilean. At the end of the night, MAYOT won in surprisingly easy fashion in straight sets at 2, 1.
